208-729 Operations & Decision Making

Operations and Decision Making covers manufacturing and transport systems, supply systems, retail organisation and service systems. Topics include design, planning, scheduling, control, maintenance and replacement, as well as the management of inventories and quality of goods and services delivered to the customer. During this subject students will develop skills in categorising, describing and analysing operating systems and will be able to show the link between an effective choice of systems and the business strategy of the organisation. The lecturer for this subject is Professor David Sparling from Guelph University in Canada.
